It’s always such a pleasure when you get to collaborate with friends to create something beautiful. Photographer and Film maker Jacinta Cornelius captures sister duo Nikita and Angel Nxele.
I really wanted this summer collection to be fun, cheerful and colourful. We had such a great day shooting this look book.. it felt so natural and fun!
I had a few key inspirations which helped me create this collection. Mainly the 1850’s fashion era which I am completely fascinated by. The voluminous sleeves, shirring details, eccentric hats, gathering and off the shoulder cuts.
Secondly, the spring flowers. A day trip to Kirstenbosch surrounded by the blooming proteas really caught my attention. The bright, intense colours and textures inspired the creation of the Jemima embroidery dress which is photographed in the image above.
